Pro­fes­sor Yafeng Yin has been rec­og­nized as the Don­ald Cleve­land Col­le­giate Pro­fes­sor of Engi­neer­ing in a cer­e­mo­ny on Tues­day, April 2, 2024.

At the recog­ni­tion cer­e­mo­ny, Steven L. Cec­cio, the Inter­im Dean of Engi­neer­ing, opened the event and acknowl­edged the lega­cy of Dr. Don­ald Cleve­land. LIMOS alum­ni Daniel Vignon, Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor of Civ­il and Urban Engi­neer­ing at New York Uni­ver­si­ty, and Ziqi Song, Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sor of Civ­il, Struc­tur­al, and Envi­ron­men­tal Engi­neer­ing at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Buf­fa­lo, deliv­ered com­mend­able remarks prais­ing Pro­fes­sor Yin’s exem­plary work and men­tor­ship. Pro­fes­sor Yin then deliv­ered a lec­ture titled “Mod­el­ing Mobil­i­ty: The Quest for Behav­ioral Real­ism in Trav­el Forecasting.”

Dean Cec­cio con­clud­ed the event with his final remarks, con­grat­u­lat­ing Pro­fes­sor Yin on his sig­nif­i­cant accom­plish­ments and pre­sent­ing him with the pro­fes­sor­ship medal and chair. This recog­ni­tion as the Don­ald Cleve­land Col­le­giate Pro­fes­sor of Engi­neer­ing reflects Pro­fes­sor Yin’s ded­i­ca­tion to teach­ing, research, and pub­li­ca­tion, fur­ther solid­i­fy­ing his lega­cy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Michigan.
